UTAH — The film legend Robert Redford, who died Tuesday at his home in Utah, had briefly studied art at Brooklyn’s famous Pratt Institute before starting his acting career, the Associated Press and Biography.com reported. Redford had shown talent during his school years as an illustrator and also studied art in Paris. However, acting proved a catharsis after a period of adversity and depression. He co-starred in a Broadway production of “Barefoot in the Park,” and later starred in several movies, including “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” which won four Oscars and inspired the name of Redford’s independent-film institute and film festival.
