YOUNGSTOWN The man who was convicted in 2024 of murdering a four-year-old boy in Struthers in 2020 was resentenced on Tuesday.

Twenty-three-year-old Brandon Crump was originally sentenced to 52 to 53-and-a-half years to life in prison on several charges including aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, escape and conspiracy, along with several three-year firearm specifications.

The resentencing hearing resulted in Crump's conspiracy charge being merged with his charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. This merger did not change the amount of time Crump would serve in prison.
