Bouquets of flowers have been left near the spot where a teenage boy lost his life in an 'appalling' knife murder.

Tributes are being placed at the scene in Moss Side , as forensic investigators continue an examination of the area in the hunt for clues and to secure vital evidence.

As reported, a murder investigation is underway after the tragedy in Moss Side. The teenager - who was 15 and suffered multiple stab wounds - hasn't been named.

A senior GMP officer called the murder 'an appalling act' as the force issued a major appeal for witnesses. Police patrols in the area have been stepped up and enhanced stop and search powers have been authorised to last for 24 hours.
