TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida State University and the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare have reached an agreement to create an academic health center and transition the hospital’s brand to “FSU Health.”
In a joint press release from FSU and TMH obtained by WCTV Tuesday afternoon, the university and hospital confirmed the approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), “that formally establishes the framework for a fully encompassing academic health center.”
Under the agreement, Florida State and TMH plan to work with the City of Tallahassee “on the transfer of the hospital assets to FSU, including the 75-acre property, 2-million-square-foot hospital building, and related assets,” according to the press release.
