Middle Tennessee State University says no threat after reports on social media of shooter on campus

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Murfreesboro Police Department reports there is no threat to the campus of Middle Tennessee State University after false reports on social media.

MPD said the reports of the threat were found to be untrue.

“Students can resume normal activities. Murfreesboro Police, MTSU Police and other law agencies are on campus as a precaution,” police said.

The University Police Department at Middle Tennessee State confirmed that there “is no shooter” to WSMV on Tuesday morning.
