Ohio State University evacuates buildings due to 'suspicious package'

The Ohio State University has evacuated a third building after the discovery of a suspicious package, the university said on social media.

Caldwell Lab, the journalism building and Bolz Hall have been evacuated, the university said on X. Police are investigating the package. An alert from the university says the "suspicious device" was located inside Caldwell.

At 12:30 p.m., Ohio State University Emergency Management wrote in a post on X that the Caldwell Lab building was being evacuated "as a precaution" while police investigated a suspicious package.

A few minutes later, emergency management said the nearby journalism building was also being evacuated because it is close to the lab building. A third post on X said Bolz Hall was also being evacuated.
