CLEVELAND, Ohio — University Hospitals will triple the patient capacity of its cancer clinical trials center with help from a $3.5 million gift, the medical system recently announced.
Philanthropist Kathy Coleman’s gift will allow UH to expand the existing Kathy and Les Coleman Clinical Trials Center into a dedicated, larger, 16,000-square-foot space on main campus.
The new space will be able to hold new machinery to allow for more diagnostic-based trials, a type of clinical research study that evaluates the reliability of diagnostic tests or procedures.
UH Seidman Cancer Center is among the few cancer centers in the country with access to novel drugs from the National Cancer Institute, UH said.
