A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident on a railway line in Sutton Coldfield .

Emergency services were called to the freight railway line between Midland Drive and Coleshill Road just before 4pm today, Tuesday, September 16.

Roads were closed including Riland Road and Coleshill Road, with a number of ambulance crews sent to the scene, including the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Witnesses reported ambulances and police including sniffer dogs in the area. A train was said to have been stopped on a railway bridge.
