HOUSTON (KIAH) — Houston ISD superintendent Mike Miles will be paid over $173,000 this year after his performance-based evaluation saw positive results.
Miles, who was placed as the district’s superintendent in 2023 after the Texas Education Agency took over HISD, will be paid $173,660 in incentive pay out of a possible $190,000, which is competitive with other large districts.
HISD said that Miles’ performance was evaluated was based on two rubrics: the evaluation rubric and the leadership rubric. On the evaluation rubric, based on seven goals and constraints, Miles scored 55 points out of 60.
On the leadership rubric, which is described as a self-assessment tool, Miles scored 36 points out of 40.
