HOUSTON (KIAH)-- The new Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center at the Texas Medical Center was created for a donor experience that donors will feel even more comfortable to give blood. The center is a 15,000 plus square foot facility located right across from its original facility.

New features include: • Up to 11 beds for whole blood and apheresis donations • zero gravity massage chair to help relax donors • donor massage bed • Bevi Smart water dispenser • Covered parking with access to donor room • an AI assistant Kiosk to answer questions about the new experience

Theresa Pina is the Chief Growth Officer at Gulf Coast Blood. She said that for many years, the donor room was housed at the headquarters location, but with the new donor center, it allows for more space and less wait
