A man found dead at a home in South El Paso apparently died from stab wounds in what is now the city's latest homicide investigation, police officials said.

Jorge Serna, 63, was found dead at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, at a house in the 1900 block of Olive Avenue in a neighborhood near the Chamizal National Memorial, El Paso Police Department Spokeswoman Stephanie Shields stated in a news release issued on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Officers conducting a well-being check found Serna was dead and that he had "injuries consistent with stab wounds," police noted.

The case, which police are describing as a murder, is under investigation by homicide detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit. There have been no arrests. No possible motive in the killing has been disclosed.
