UTEP coach Scotty Walden continually talks about the progress his team is making in the second year of his program, as it angles toward a Sun Bowl game against Louisiana-Monroe, where the Miners are a 5-point favorite.

He felt that progress was on good display at No. 7 Texas , and he saw even more progress when the team assembled at the start of this week for its "Flush Monday" practice, where UTEP puts the previous game behind it.
