SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport Regional Airport had its busiest summer in 44 years, according to a post on the airport's Facebook page. This summer was also the fourth busiest summer in the airport's 73-year history. The traditional summer travel season is May through August and this year 307,597 people traveled through SHV, which was an increase of 19% from last year’s passenger numbers. The new Nashville non-stop flight was popular, with more than 5,400 passenger staking the flight in the three months it operated this summer. Along with Destin and Orlando, non-stop flights to Nashville will be back next summer.
