NEW YORK (WABC) -- In the race for New York City mayor, another new poll out Tuesday shows Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani with a commanding lead.

In the new Marist poll , Mamdani leads the group of candidates with 45%.

The next closest is former Gov. Andrew Cuomo with 24%, followed by Curtis Sliwa with 17% and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams in last with 9%.

The poll also looked at what may happen if the race came down to just Mamdani and Cuomo.

In that race, 49% of likely voters would support Mamdani while 39% would back Cuomo.

Adams said the Marist poll reflects a campaign that has just started up.

"We have not done one TV ad, not one mailing, we have just started knocking on doors," Adams said.

The mayor reiterated he is not dropping out and said there is still time for a comeba
