LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police are investigating after two people, including an innocent bystander, were shot in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 2:30 p.m. for multiple people shot on East Broadway and Clinton Street on the Lower East Side, a normally busy area with a school and hospital nearby.

Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old man shot in the right leg, and a 63-year-old woman shot in the right foot.

Eyewitness News obtained cellphone video of the 63-year-old victim, believed to be an innocent bystander, receiving medical attention.

Police say the 21-year-old man was the intended target.

Both victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital where they are expected to survive.
