New England Revolution sporting director Curt Onalfo addressed the club’s decision to part ways with head coach Caleb Porter and the search to find his successor.

In a nearly 15-minute press conference Tuesday afternoon at the Revolution training center in Foxboro, Onalfo said he doesn’t believe results this season reflect the team’s quality, emphasizing its current 3-9-3 home record as a key factor in the club’s decision to dismiss Porter.

“We have a roster that’s been assembled that has underperformed in terms of results,” Onalfo said. “We feel like we have a team that should be farther up in the standings, and we’re not. It’s a results-oriented business, and that’s why we had to make the change.”
