MERIDEN, Conn. — In the world of law enforcement, science plays a critical role in solving cases. From DNA evidence to ballistics, the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory provides the detailed analysis police agencies across the state rely on.
This week, the lab opened its doors to the public as part of National Forensic Science Week.
Students were invited to go hands-on on Tuesday. Starting with watching a mock crime scene filmed by the state Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (DESPP). The exercise let them step into the role of investigators, examining evidence and attempting to solve the case.
“Being able to see what our state crime lab does and talk directly with experts is an incredible opportunity for students and faculty,” CCSU professor Julia Schnobrich-Da
