TURTLE MOUNTAIN INDIAN RESERVATION — A wrongful death case has been filed in federal court by the father of Jordan Ray Parisien, a 32-year-old man who was fatally shot by a police officer last December.
The complaint, filed Sept. 12, says Jordan Parisien was shot by Bureau of Indian Affairs Police Officer Evan Parisien. The shooting took place around 9:50 a.m. Dec. 29, on the Turtle Mountain Reservation.
Jordan Parisien was reported that day as an armed, suicidal person, according to previous Grand Forks Herald coverage. Law enforcement found him driving erratically and ordered him to pull over.
Three law enforcement officers were on scene, but only one was reported to have fired a weapon.
