IT TOOK police two attempts to stop a single mother caught speeding down the Moonbi Ranges at 140km/h, a court has heard.

Jessica Isabel McNamara careered through the first set of road spikes deployed by officers just outside of Bendemeer, police claimed.

The 28-year-old also overtook a truck on double lines along the New England Highway, police claimed.

She was eventually brought to a halt by the second set of road spikes deployed on the Moonbi Ranges.

On Monday, September 15, McNamara appeared before Armidale Local Court charged with three driving and 15 shoplifting offences.

She pleaded guilty to all charges.

According to a statement tendered to court, McNamara's offending spree began on Sunday, February 15, when she was nabbed by police for driving along Donnelly Street, Armidale
