CASCADE, Iowa (KCRG) - The Western Dubuque Community School District says charges have been filed against three Cascade High School students.
The students have been accused of misusing AI-generated images , according to the Western Dubuque Community School District.
In April, several female students say classmates created fake nude images of them using artificial intelligence. It’s unknown how many images were generated and the number of victims.
The district said “any student who has been charged as a creator or distributor of materials like those in question will not be permitted to attend school in person at Cascade Junior/Senior High School.”
Governor Kim Reynolds signed a law that makes creating AI-generated sexual content of minors a crime last year.
