MARTINSBURG - When Ben Williams scored a goal midway through the first half of Monday's boys soccer game against Jefferson, the Martinsburg sophomore was just getting started.
With that first goal, the flood gates opened, and Williams found the back of the net twice more in the first half and again in the second half to notch four goals in leading the Bulldogs to an 8-1 victory over the Cougars.
"It's amazing. It feels great," Williams said of the four goals. "(It's) just taking space, looking for gaps, just moving around the pitch."
Williams' run of goals began with Martinsburg (5-3) already ahead 2-0 on tallies by Jordan Nounee, who also had two assists, four minutes into the game and Jordan Buracker about four minutes later.
