LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A Seattle man was convicted Friday in the 28th Circuit Court in Wexford County of multiple child sex charges stemming from a 2018 incident where he convinced a 15-year-old girl to pose for pictures while partially nude.

Edward Eugene Smith, 34, who formerly lived in Cadillac, MI, pleaded no contest to child sexually abusive activity, accosting a minor for immoral purposes, and using a computer to commit child sexually abusive activity.

According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, Smith, 28 years old at the time, convinced a 15-year-old girl to pose partially nude while he photographed her in his apartment. One of his roommates found the pictures on one of Smith's devices and notified law enforcement.
