WASHINGTON — Lexington Democrat Logan Forsythe is the latest candidate to launch a campaign to replace retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

McConnell announced in February that he won’t seek another term after more than 40 years on Capitol Hill.

An attorney and former U.S. Secret Service agent, Forsythe supports term limits and said he wants to focus on affordability, health care and education.

“Our politicians have forgotten about families like mine and places like these, and nowhere is that clearer than the bill they just passed,” Forsythe said in a video released Tuesday.

Forsythe, 36, grew up in poverty in Lyon County, relying on Medicaid and federal food assistance programs, he said.
