FAIRVIEW — Council member Betty Cherrey was sworn in as mayor during a special meeting of the Fairview Town Council on Monday evening (Sept. 15).

Cherrey will serve through the end of the year, completing the term of former mayor Brian Bieber. With no opponent in the Nov. 4 municipal election, she is also the presumptive incoming mayor.
