ROCKFORD, Ill. — A local film festival ended on Sunday. One of its award winners was said to have captured what the event is all about.

The Mosaic World Film Festival (MWFF) was held at the RPL Nordlof Center in downtown Rockford. Its 18th annual event started on Friday and ran through Sunday, Sept. 14. On Friday, they announced Fraser Kershaw's The Summer of Love as the Best Experimental Short Film.

"We are thrilled to honor Fraser Kershaw's The Summer of Love as this year's Best Experimental Short Film," said a festival spokesperson. "His work exemplifies the vision, spirit, and originality we seek at MWFF, pushing the boundaries of filmmaking and resonating deeply with audiences."

The festival also said that Kershaw's film embodied their motto, "Make a film. Change the world."
