A Texas State Trooper who was a married father of five was killed Monday night in a car crash in southeast Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 44-year-old Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr. was responding to an emergency at about 9:15 p.m. on Monday and was driving on Farm-to-Market Road 945 South when his vehicle left the road, hit a tree and caught fire.
Adamick, the DPS said, died at the scene.
“Our hearts are broken today,” said DPS Colonel Freeman F. Martin. “Trooper Adamick bravely served our country for many years, and we were proud to have him choose to continue his service as part of the DPS family. He had so much life ahead of him, and today we grieve with his family and friends.”
