SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A DPS trooper died after his vehicle went off the road in San Jacinto County while he was responding to an emergency call.
Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr., 44, was driving through San Jacinto County on FM 945 South around 9:15 p.m. Monday to help other law enforcement officers with an emergency call. His vehicle then went off the road and hit a tree, catching on fire, according to a Department of Public Safety release. Adamick died at the scene.
“Our hearts are broken today,” DPS Colonel Freeman F. Martin said in the release. “Trooper Adamick bravely served our country for many years, and we were proud to have him choose to continue his service as part of the DPS family. He had so much life ahead of him, and today we grieve with his family and friends.”
