LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — A free resource called "Project Lifesaver" is available for families with loved ones at risk of wandering off and getting lost.

The nonprofit offers bracelets for children and seniors that can be work on the wrist or ankle, at no cost to families. They include a battery-operated radio transmitter that law enforcement authorities can use if a person goes missing.

“Anybody that has a cognitive disorder that makes them wander should have this it is just an extra safety precaution,” said Deputy Karen Dunlap who heads the program in Licking County.

Dunlap responded to the tragedy in Etna Township, where a three-year old boy was found in a retention pond near his home after his mother reported he had run off.
