Laveen Heritage Park includes agility course, disc golf and monarch butterfly garden

Laveen residents have a new place to gather and play.

The city celebrated the opening of Laveen Heritage Park, at 71st Avenue and Meadow Loop Road, last week.

During the Monday, Sept. 8 ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Kate Gallego noted this was the third new park the city has opened in Laveen in the past 16 months, along with the Cesar Chavez Community Center that opened in 2023.

“We keep investing in this area, which was a real priority for me,” Gallego said. “We want to make sure every part of our city has great parks, and this area has been growing so quickly that we’ve had to do a lot of investing.”
