GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Chick-fil-A will open its first location in Grand Island on Thursday morning.

The new restaurant sits next to the recently built Target in the Conestoga Marketplace. Owner-operator Carl Dann said he looks forward to serving the community and supporting local causes.

“Not only are we kicking off by donating $25,000 to Feeding America and that is going to stay all right here locally to help hunger efforts,” Dann said. “But also we’re partnering with Shared Table, which allows us to donate food we cannot sell each day. We’ve chosen to work with Crossroads Mission in this area because they can use the most of what we can give them, which keeps our food waste low.”
