CLEVELAND — Cleveland's nascent WNBA franchise celebrated its successful expansion bid Tuesday in front of a gathering of press, future ticket-holders and more than 700 Northeast Ohio female student-athletes, announcing a commitment to hold more than two dozen community events for girls and young women by next summer.

Cleveland WNBA president Allison Howard said the team would host 28 unique events, including camps, clinics, coach training sessions and professional development opportunities through June 30, 2026 — exactly one year after the franchise was announced. The footprint of these events will extend beyond Northeast Ohio, with programming planned across the rest of the state and throughout western Pennsylvania and western New York.
