LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The fate of a large homeless encampment on the north side of Lansing is in the hands of an Ingham County court.
On Tuesday, for the very first time, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina visited the encampment ahead of a hearing where she is expected to decide what happens next to the people who built the community, which they call “Falling Angels Ministry.”
The purpose of Aquilina’s visit was gathering information to resolve a legal conflict between the city of Lansing and two local business owners.
She was accompanied by Lansing officials and legal representation for the owners of the private properties the camp is located on.
The dispute began after the city sued the two property owners over health and safety concerns, asking the owners to take responsibility for the camp
