DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- The City Manager of Decatur, Tim Gleason, will be stepping down from his role, the city announced Tuesday morning.
Gleason formally announced his resignation in a letter to the Decatur City Council, effective no later than Oct. 31, 2025. This concludes his recent tenure leading the city since his return to the position in May of 2024.
Gleason previously served as the City Manager of Decatur between 2015 and 2018. He then worked at the City of Bloomington as its city manager until his return to Decatur last year.
During his tenure, Gleason oversaw city initiatives like improving infrastructure, economic development and efficiency with internal organization, as well as supporting public safety.
