DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Minnesota’s first non-tribal marijuana dispensary opened Tuesday in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, marking a historic step for the state’s recreational cannabis market.
Legacy Cannabis, located in the heart of the craft district near Bent Paddle Brewing Co., is one of nine microbusinesses granted licenses by the Office of Cannabis Management in August.
Josh Wilken-Simon, lead consultant for Legacy Cannabis, said the launch has been years in the making.
“We got our application in early. It was a really intense application, a lot of time, a lot of thought,” Wilken-Simon said. “This has been a 15-plus year journey and it’s come to fruition.”
