VILLAGE OF DEFOREST (WKOW) -- Voters in DeForest went to the polls Tuesday and chose to reshape the village board.
Alicia Williams won the recall election with 78.4% of the vote, defeating incumbent trustee William Landgraf and challenger Stacey Petersen.
Results:
Alicia Williams -1,884 votes (78.4%)
William Landgraf - 260 votes (10.8%)
Stacey Petersen - 256 votes (10.6%)
Write-in - 4 votes (0.2%)
The recall was sparked by a narrow 4-3 board decision in February to remove fluoride from the village water supply, a move Landgraf supported.
With her majority win, Williams will replace Landgraf and serve the remainder of his term.
