MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has identified a woman who died after police say her car hit a bridge.

ALEA said Patty S. Hagler, 59, of Huntsville, was critically injured when the Buick Regal she was driving left the roadway, hit a mailbox and then a bridge. The agency said that after the crash, the Buick overturned into a ditch and was submerged in water.

Authorities said Hagler was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment but later died as a result of her injuries.

ALEA said the wreck happened on Little Lone Road near Moores Mill Road around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The agency said no further information is available as state troopers continue to investigate.
