Senior quarterback Koden Sanford and senior running back Kole Riedy led the Rural Vista Heat with a 52-6 opening win over the Solomon Gorillas on Friday, Sept. 5.

Sanford passed for two touchdowns completing four of eight passes for 143 yards and Riedy ran for 294 yards and five scores. Riedy accounted for 294 yards of Rural Vista’s 337 yards on the ground.

Seniors Tyler Brockmeier and Grant Eskeldson had receiving touchdowns for the Heat. Brockmeier had two catches for 60 yards while Eskelson caught two for 53 yards. Senior Kole Riedy also had a catch for 30 yards.

On defense, Sanford led with eight total tackles while senior Tucker Mein and Eskeldson had seven each with Brockmeier adding six. Senior Andrew Calvert recorded a sack for a loss of seven yards.
