LENOX, Pa. — With months of hard work and an outpouring of community support, a treasured tavern in Susquehanna County is back open for business after it was destroyed in a fire this February.
"It was a pretty catastrophic month for us; we had lost our previous establishment to a fire, just took everybody by surprise,” said Rachel Ladden, co-owner.
An accidental fire burned down Acre Lake Tavern as well as the Acre Lake Store that was right above it.
Almost immediately after, the community rallied to raise as much money as possible. Folks hosted a benefit with over 200 people, and one business even raised funds through dance lessons.
