GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A toddler was spotted wandering around an apartment complex in Glendale, possibly for hours, during the weekend, and the mother is facing a child abuse charge, investigators said.

According to court documents, a 2-year-old boy was found alone in the parking lot of a complex on 67th Avenue, south of Glendale Avenue, around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. The person who found him said he was running around the complex for at least an hour and up to three hours before they called the police.

Police said the boy had no shoes, no shirt and an “overflowing soiled diaper.”

The apartment management said the boy lived with his mother, 28-year-old Bryonna Janell Shepard, at the complex, but she was not answering her phone.
