GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Before 2020, people would flock to the various businesses at Chinook Pier in Grand Haven.
When her boys were little, Okemos resident Tracy Moreno would take them to an ice cream shop at Chinook Pier in Grand Haven.
She was disappointed Tuesday to find out that the ice cream shop and several other businesses were no longer there, after the buildings were torn down five years ago due to mold.
“I thought I was going crazy because I knew I was on the right street, and I walked back all the way the lighthouse came all the way back, and I thought, this is the place," Moreno said. "And then I saw the sign, and I said, 'Something's gone here.'”
