RAWLINS – As the Seminoe Pumped Storage project moves forward, several organizations recently voiced concern the process is moving too fast and important studies have not happened as rPlus Hydro works to fast-track the project.
Wyoming Trout Unlimited hosted a webinar on Sept. 9 to offer an update about the project. The webinar was hosted by government relations director Patrick Harrington, who said the recent water quality review that was completed as a part of this process had a few holes.
He noted the water temperature risk and the downstream warming that could occur in the North Platte River's Miracle Mile 35 miles northwest of Rawlins, just off the Seminoe/Kortes Road, was not analyzed.
