FORT MILL, S.C. — An after-school program in Fort Mill is calling for increased community support and resources following the arrest of two juveniles, including a 13-year-old, in connection with a homicide at Steel Street Park last month .

Danielle Redmond, executive director and founder of Historic Paradise Foundation, said the younger suspect had attended her after-school program for years before being removed due to behavioral issues. The program serves about 40 children with music, academics, and life skills instruction.

"We're trying to help them level up, we're trying to help the parents level up because by providing these services, it allows the kids to have healthy meals, supervised play, and helping with homework," Redmond said.
