TIMES SQUARE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A final vote is expected Wednesday morning on whether a proposal for a casino in Times Square moves forward or not.

The proposal has been a hot button issue in the community, especially among the folks on Broadway.

The building that's currently home to the Minskoff Theater and "The Lion King" would keep the show, but everything above it would be overhauled to make way for the Caesars Palace if the plan becomes a reality.

There's been plenty of opposition and support at a series of hearings and demonstrations, including concerns the casino would cannibalize Broadway.

"The saying is that the house always wins," said longtime Hell's Kitchen resident, Chad R. MacDonald. "So, if the house is in our neighborhood, the neighborhood should win, too."
