AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Independent School District (AISD) is facing significant changes as it deals with declining enrollment and budget constraints. District leaders are considering closing some schools and rezoning others starting next year to better allocate resources and save money.

KVUE continues to seek an in-depth interview with district officials to discuss the ongoing school consolidation process. Since the first request on September 4, the district has either declined to comment or has not responded to our inquiries.

Meanwhile, parents across the district are also voicing concerns about the lack of communication. Christina Holguin, an AISD parent, expressed frustration over the limited opportunities for engagement.
