A big, bold, cinematic misfire, "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey" is an abject failure, a massive miscalculation of script, stars and storyteller full of cloying emotions and a forced sense of whimsy. Lock it up in movie jail and throw away the key.
Margot Robbie, in her first on-screen role since "Barbie," plays the serially single Sarah, who is so self-realized she comes complete with a pre-programmed speech about why she can't settle down. Colin Farrell is David, who is also single, but is more of a sad sack about his relationship status. He's afraid of hurting someone, or being hurt, so he's still out there on the scene, sort of looking for love, mostly not.
