More than 590,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles are being recalled, according to a news release from Toyota posted last week.
Toyota said the recall includes certain models of its Crown, RAV4, GR Corolla, 4Runner, Camry and Highlander vehicles, as well as Lexus models LS, RX and TX cars.
The recall for all affected vehicles revolves around the 12.3-inch display of the cars' instrument panel. Toyota says it could potentially be blank at startup, reducing the ability to see certain “malfunction indicators.”
“If malfunctions occur while driving, continuing to drive could lead to an increased risk of a crash or an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash,” Toyota said.
Replacements or updates for affected vehicles will be done free of charge, with customers covered by the recall
