TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Sun Tran is gearing up to celebrate its 50th anniversary on Friday, and is inviting the public to join the fun.

The 50th anniversary celebration will take place on Sept. 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ronstadt Transit Center, 215 E. Congress St.

The event will feature an array of activities, including food trucks offering Sonoran hot dogs and hamburgers to the first 200 attendees who collect a food ticket from the Sun Tran welcome booth. Guests can also enjoy games, prizes, face painting, and complimentary water.

Mayor Regina Romero, Director of Transportation and Mobility Sam Credio and Sun Tran General Manager Mikel Oglesby will speak about Sun Tran's history and achievements.
