The family of a much-loved Glasgow dad have 'one final goal' in his memory following his death at age 58.

Sammy Johnston, a husband, dad, and dear friend, passed away on August 14 after a courageous battle with stage 4 brain cancer .

Sammy's heartbroken loved ones said he "lived life to the fullest", and that his "warmth, humour, and kindness touched everyone he met".

His diagnosis of glioblastoma came as a devastating shock. Through the most difficult days, the team at the St Vincent's Hospice in Howwood, Renfrewshire, cared for Sammy and his family offering compassion, comfort, and support, and giving them treasured time together before his final moments.

Football was the dad's number one passion. This led to a successful career with clubs including Partick Thistle, St Johnston
