SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS10) -- The last time the Schalmont and Ichabod Crane Boys Soccer teams had met prior to Tuesday was in the 2024 Section championship game. A match the Sabres won 2-1 in double overtime to claim the Class A championship. In the title game rematch, it was Schalmont who once again emerged victorious, beating the Riders 1-0 this time around.
The Sabres were the ones to find the early chances, testing Ichabod Crane keeper, Josh Kelley, who was able to answer every time early on to keep the game scoreless.
That would change with just over 15 minutes to play in the half when Luke Martin played a through ball for Luke Viscusi, who had just the keeper to beat and found the back of the net to put the Sabres in front 1-0.
