Kenneth Vargas has left Hearts to return to former club SC Herediano on loan. ‌

The Costa Rican forward hasn't featured for the Jambos under Derek McInnes , having suffered a hip injury that kept him out of pre-season before finding himself way down the pecking order after a raft of summer arrivals at Tynecastle. ‌

The club have now confirmed that Vargas will head back to his homeland on a short-term basis initially, although the move could be made permanent in January. ‌

It also gives the 23-year-old the opportunity to put himself in the shop window for another move out of Costa Rica.

Spanish second tier side Cueta were keen on Vargas during the transfer window but couldn't get a deal done in time.
